OrthoMedex LLC Announces the Formation of OrthoMedex GmbH 

OrthoMedex LLC is pleased to announce the formation of OrthoMedex GmbH, an
orthopedic implant research & development office, located at the Medical Valley Center in Erlangen, Germany. The German government has designated the Medical Valley, Bavaria a National Medtech
Cluster of Excellence. The Medical Valley Center is the epicenter of the Medical Valley, and the home of 35 early-stage medtech healthcare companies.

OrthoMedex LLC Presents at OktoberINVESTfest 2017

OrthoMedex LLC is pleased to announce its Oct. 25, 2017 participation in
OktoberINVESTfest 2017, an investor’s conference held at the New York Academy of Sciences. In addition to presenting the latest OrthoMedex LLC developments to an
international investor audience, its Founder participated in a panel discussion entitled:
Warren Buffet is not the only one ‘Going German’: Hear first hand from companies and financing experts about their experiences expanding to and investing in Europe’s powerhouse, Bavaria Germany. Investment, expansion, funding and research topics will be on the table.

collaboration with some of Germany’s leading academic and research institutions.

OrthoMedex LLC Announces 
Medical Valley EMN E.V. ‘Internationalization’ Grant   

OrthoMedex LLC, a startup Connecticut-based orthopedic implant company, is pleased to announce it is the recipient of a Medical Valley EMN, E.V. ‘Internationalization’ grant, totaling $1.4MM. The Project entitled: ‘Seeding Cementless Orthopedic Implants and Cancellous Bone Allografts with Bioactive Glass Particles for Enhanced Implant Fixation and Antimicrobial Implant Prophylaxis’ includes institutional research collaborators from both the Medical Valley [Bavaria, Germany] and Connecticut. The ‘Internationalization’ grant is underwritten by Germany’s Ministry of Education and Research [acronym – BMBF]

OrthoMedex LLC Attends EIT Health’s  ‘Go Global’ MedTech Accelerator, and
Pitches At ‘2017 MedTech Summit Conference’

OrthoMedex LLC is pleased to announce its selection as 1 of 10 international early-stage medtech companies to participate in EIT Health’s ‘Go Global’ business accelerator, lead by Medical Valley EMN E.V., Erlangen Germany. Ten early-stage medtech companies from the US, Brazil, and Hong Kong/China were selected for the Accelerator in order to learn about expanding business opportunities within Europe, via Germany. 
Workshop sessions included:

  • Introduction to the German and European Healthcare Market
  • Business Formation within Germany and Europe

OrthoMedex LLC Announces Issuance of USPTO Patent # 9,592,206 and the Publication of USPTO Patent Application # 2017/0136156;
Both Entitled: “Methods of Using
​Water-Soluble Inorganic Compounds for Implants”

OrthoMedex LLC is pleased to announce the March 14, 2017 issuance of USPTO Patent # 9,592,206 and the May 18, 2017 publication of USPTO Patent Application # 2017/0136156. Both patents represent first and second OrthoMedex continuation patents following the successful issuance of the company’s USPTO Patent # 8,673,018; all of which are entitled: Methods of Using Water-Soluble Inorganic Compounds for Implants. This family of patents provides for the use of inorganic compounds, such as bioactive glass, to enhance orthopedic implant fixation and provide for antimicrobial implant prophylaxis.
